SEE ALSO...

CLIP Antibody (cerCLIP.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CLIP in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CLIP (cerCLIP.1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLIP plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a residual fragment of the invariant chain that remains in the peptide-binding groove of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules after the invariant chains are degraded. This function is vital as CLIP allows for the proper loading of antigenic peptides onto MHC class II molecules, which are essential for T cell recognition and activation. The exchange of CLIP for processed peptides is facilitated by the non-classical human leukocyte antigen HLA-DM, which not only removes CLIP but also ensures that MHC class II molecules are loaded with the appropriate peptides for effective immune presentation. Anti-CLIP antibody (cerCLIP.1) exhibits strong reactivity with surface class II-CLIP complexes, making CLIP (cerCLIP.1) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for identifying HLA class II-positive cells, cells with impaired HLA-DM activity, and tumor cells that have evaded detection by CD4-positive T cells.

I cannot understand which cells you have used in the dot-plot for the CerCLIP.1 Ab, sc-12725, (mouse spleen cells perhaps?), and the realtive percent of positive cells in each quadrant. Thanks in advance!

Asked by: George KP
Thank you for your question. As indicated in the legend text for the FCM data with this antibody, we tested T2DR3 cells, also known as T2.DR3. This is a human cell line. At the time this data was generated, we did not record the exact percentage of positive cells. It is estimated to be about 15-20% of the total cell population.

What is the recommended secondary reagent to be used with this mouse monoclonal primary?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Does this antibody also recognize full-length CD74?

Asked by: LW Wang
Thank you for your question. This antibody, sc-12725 CLIP (cerCLIP.1), recognises free CD74 (CLIP) and alpha/beta CD74 complexes, and does not react with free I chain or alpha/beta/I chain complexes. Please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <scbt@scbt.com>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com if you have any further questions.
