CLIM-1/2 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CLIM-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLIM-1, also known as LIM domain-binding factor-2, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and gene regulation by interacting with various transcription factors, thereby influencing transcriptional activity of target genes. CLIM-1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where CLIM-1 is involved in assembling transcriptional complexes essential for muscle development and function. Northern blot analysis reveals a predominant 2.0-kb transcript in heart and skeletal muscle, underscoring CLIM-1′s importance in muscle physiology. CLIM-1 interacts with alpha-actinin-2, a key component of the cytoskeleton, through its LIM domain, facilitating CLIM-1 localization to actin stress fibers in nonmuscle cells. This interaction highlights CLIM-1′s structural significance and role in maintaining cellular integrity and function. With an ability to form complexes that regulate gene expression, CLIM-1 is vital for various biological processes, making CLIM-1/2 (C-4) antibody an essential tool for researchers studying muscle biology and transcriptional regulation.
