    SEE ALSO...

CLIC5B Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CLIC5B protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLIC5B (D-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Chloride intracellular channel 5 (CLIC5) is a vital member of a highly conserved family of chloride ion channels that exist in both soluble and integral membrane forms, playing a crucial role in regulating cellular traffic of chloride ions, which are essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. The proper functioning of chloride channels is critical for stabilizing membrane potential, facilitating signal transduction, regulating cell volume, and transporting organic solutes. CLIC5 is particularly important in the assembly and maintenance of actin-based cytoskeletal structures, and CLIC5 has been implicated in inner ear function, where CLIC5 localizes to stereocilia and may interact with Radixin. Notably, CLIC5 exists in two isoforms, CLIC5A and CLIC5B, which share an identical C-terminus but have distinct N-terminal sequences. CLIC5B, the human ortholog of bovine p64 and avian p62, binds to AKAP350 and is localized to the Golgi apparatus, highlighting CLIC5B′s significance in cellular organization and signaling pathways.
