SEE ALSO...

CLIC1 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CLIC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLIC1 Antibody (F-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Chloride intracellular channel 1 (CLIC1), also known as NCC27, is a crucial member of a highly conserved family of chloride ion channels that can exist in both soluble and integral membrane forms. CLIC1′s unique structure includes a redox-active site akin to glutaredoxin, allowing CLIC1 to function as an anion-selective channel. Notably, CLIC1 can form dimers when oxidized, enabling the creation of chloride ion channels in bilayers and vesicles, while a reducing environment inhibits this process. Insulin influences CLIC1 regulation, potentially inducing subnuclear relocalization. CLIC1 plays a role in macrophage activation, and CLIC1 downregulation prevents tumor necrosis factor-alpha release induced by β-Amyloid protein stimulation, highlighting CLIC1′s potential role in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer′s disease, where β-Amyloid accumulation is a hallmark.
