CLEC-1 Antibody (55Ex-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects CLEC-1 in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. CLEC-1, also known as Dectin-1, is a crucial type II transmembrane receptor that plays a significant role in the immune response by recognizing β-glucan, a component found in the cell walls of fungi and yeast. This recognition is vital for the activation of innate immunity, as it enables primary macrophages to identify and respond to zymosan and other yeast-derived particles. CLEC-1 consists of 280 amino acids and features a single carbohydrate recognition domain, which is essential for binding to β-glucan. Additionally, CLEC-1 is expressed in dendritic and endothelial cells, where CLEC-1 accumulates in perinuclear compartments and requires an associated chain for proper localization to the cell surface. CLEC-1′s structural characteristics, including a cytoplasmic immuno-receptor tyrosine-based motif and multiple potential phosphorylation sites, suggest involvement in complex signaling pathways that regulate immune responses. CLEC-1′s interaction with other proteins, such as the natural killer cell receptors NKG2s and CD94, further highlights CLEC-1′s importance in modulating cytotoxicity and cytokine secretion, making CLEC-1 a critical target for research in immunology and therapeutic development.
