claudin-9 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects claudin-9 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-claudin-9 antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. claudin-9 plays a crucial role in maintaining tight junction integrity, which is essential for regulating paracellular transport and maintaining cellular polarity. These tight junctions are primarily located in epithelial and endothelial cells, where they form a selective barrier that controls ion and small molecule movement between cells. Proper claudin-9 function is vital for various physiological processes, including barrier function maintenance in tissues such as the cornea and intestines. Notably, claudin-9 shares high homology with claudin-3, which serves as a receptor for clostridium perfringens enterotoxin, highlighting claudin family members′ importance in both health and disease. The human claudin-9 gene is located on chromosome 16p13.3, and expression is tightly regulated, making claudin-9 a significant focus for research in cellular transport mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398836 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
