Cks1/2 Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Cks1/2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Cks1/2 antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cks1 and Cks2 proteins play a pivotal role in regulating cell cycle, particularly in transitioning from G2 phase to mitosis, by interacting with cyclin-dependent kinases. These proteins are essential for forming Cdc2 p34-cyclin B complex, also known as M phase promoting factor (MPF), which is crucial for cell division. Cks2, a 79 amino acid protein, binds to catalytic subunit of cyclin-dependent kinases and forms a homohexamer capable of binding up to six subunits, enhancing stability and activity of cyclin/cyclin-dependent kinase complex. Proper functioning of Cks2 is vital, as dysfunction can lead to cell cycle arrest, particularly affecting metaphase/anaphase transition during meiosis. This highlights Cks1/2 (F-12) antibody′s importance in studying cell cycle regulation and potential implications in cancer research and therapeutic interventions.
