SEE ALSO...

Chr-A Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Chromogranin A (Chr-A) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Chr-A (C-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Chr-A is an important acidic glycoprotein primarily located within secretory granules of neuroendocrine and endocrine cells, playing a crucial role in hormone and neuropeptide storage and release. Chr-A presence is particularly significant in neuroendocrine tumors, where elevated levels can serve as a biomarker for diagnosis and monitoring. Chr-A is also the precursor for several biologically active peptides, including pancreastatin, which regulates insulin and gastric acid secretion, highlighting Chr-A importance in metabolic processes. Chr-A interaction with other proteins, such as carboxypeptidase E, further underscores Chr-A role in neuropeptide processing and secretion, making Chr-A a vital component in the neuroendocrine system.
