Datasheets
  • chondroitin sulfate Antibody (PG-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ chondroitin sulfate antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against dermal fibroblasts of human origin
  • recommended for detection of a glycosaminoglycan epitope in both dermatan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans of human skin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • At present, we have not yet completed the identification of the preferred secondary detection reagent(s) for chondroitin sulfate Antibody (PG-4). This work is in progress.

    SEE ALSO...

Chondroitin sulfate Antibody (PG-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects chondroitin sulfate in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-chondroitin sulfate antibody (PG-4) is available as a non-conjugated format. Chondroitin sulfate is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan composed of repeating disaccharide units, which typically link to proteins to form proteoglycans. Chondroitin sulfate predominantly exists in the extracellular matrix, playing a crucial role in maintaining tissue structural integrity and resilience, particularly in cartilage, where chondroitin sulfate contributes significantly to withstanding compressive forces. The unique structure of chondroitin sulfate, with negatively charged sulfate groups, allows interactions with various proteins in the extracellular matrix, facilitating essential cellular processes such as cell signaling, proliferation, and migration. In the nervous system, chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans regulate neuronal growth and development, while modulating response to injury, highlighting importance in both structural and functional contexts. Chondroitin sulfate shows therapeutic potential, commonly used in dietary supplements for alleviating osteoarthritis symptoms.
