CHMP3 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects CHMP3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHMP3, also known as Vps24, plays a pivotal role in the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) pathway, which is essential for the proper sorting of endosomal cargo into multivesicular bodies (MVBs). CHMP3 is crucial for the disassembly of the ESCRT-III complex in an ATP-dependent manner, working in concert with CHMP2 and CHMP4. CHMP3′s significance extends to viral processes, particularly during HIV-1 infection, where CHMP3 mediates the budding and exocytosis of viral proteins; notably, overexpression of CHMP3 has been shown to strongly inhibit the release of HIV-1, highlighting CHMP3′s potential as a target for therapeutic intervention. Additionally, CHMP3 is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, skeletal muscle, heart, lung, kidney, and liver, indicating CHMP3′s fundamental role in cellular processes across multiple organ systems.
