CGGBP1 Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CGGBP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CGGBP1 antibody (G-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CGGBP1, also known as CGG triplet repeat binding protein 1, plays a crucial role in regulating the fragile X mental retardation 1 (FMR1) gene, which is essential for normal cognitive function. Located predominantly in the nucleus, CGGBP1 binds specifically to the (CGG)n repeat in the promoter region of the FMR1 gene, thereby positively influencing its expression. This interaction is vital because the FMR1 gene is implicated in fragile X syndrome, the most common form of inherited intellectual disability, which arises from the transcriptional silencing of the gene due to extensive methylation of its promoter. In individuals affected by fragile X syndrome, CGGBP1 binding is inhibited, leading to reduced expression of the FMR1 protein and contributing to the cognitive deficits associated with the disorder. CGGBP1 (G-8) antibody enables researchers to gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying FMR1 regulation and the pathogenesis of fragile X syndrome.
