SEE ALSO...

CENPJ Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CENPJ of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CENPJ antibody (E-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CENPJ, also known as CPAP, is crucial for proper brain development as CENPJ plays a significant role in regulating brain size. CENPJ is characterized by five coiled-coil domains, with the most C-terminal domain featuring a leucine zipper motif, which is important for protein-protein interactions. Additionally, CENPJ contains several potential phosphorylation sites and a C-terminal domain with 21 nonamer G-box repeats, indicating CENPJ′s involvement in various signaling pathways. CENPJ gene expression in neuroepithelium during prenatal neurogenesis and CENPJ localization to spindle poles during mitosis suggest a central role in the centrosomal mechanisms that control neuron number in the developing mammalian brain. Mutations in CENPJ have been associated with autosomal recessive primary microcephaly, with a specific 4 base pair deletion identified as a cause of protein truncation, leading to this condition.

I am using CENPJ (E-12): sc-166113 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
