SEE ALSO...

CD9 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 101-210 of human CD9, reactive with mouse, rat, and human species, and validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD9, also known as Tetraspanin-29 or p24, is a type IV transmembrane glycoprotein with four transmembrane domains and is widely expressed on the surface of various cell types, including early B cells, eosinophils, basophils, activated T cells, and platelets. CD9 is integral to cell-cell adhesion, particularly during immune responses and cellular communication. Additionally, CD9 plays a significant role in signal transduction, interacting with low molecular weight GTP-binding proteins to influence intracellular signaling pathways. CD9 is also implicated in the regulation of cell migration, adhesion, and fusion, processes that are critical in immune function, tissue repair, and development. CD9 is associated with a range of pathological conditions and is expressed on non-T acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells and some acute myeloid and chronic lymphoid leukemias, highlighting CD9′s importance as a marker for certain hematological malignancies. As a major component of the platelet surface, CD9 is essential in platelet aggregation and clot formation. Anti-CD9 antibody (C-4) is a reliable tool for studying the function and regulatory mechanisms of this key glycoprotein in health and disease. CD9 (C-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and Alexa Fluor® options, providing flexibility for a wide range of experimental applications.

Hello. Could you please confirm if the CD9 (C-4) antibody is compatible with the m-IgGκ BP-HRP secondary antibody?

Asked by: nme75
Thank you for your question. CD9 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ CD9 antibody so m-IgGκ BP-HRP: sc-516102 can indeed be used to detect it.

Can I use this antibody as a capture antibody for ELISA. Also, can it bind to protein A coated plate.

Asked by: Pooja Dua
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been tested for sandwich ELISA, but we would expect it to be fine for that use. It should be able to be coated onto a protein A coated plate without a problem. If you have any further questions, please contact our Asia Technical Service team. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for Western blotting of CD9 in MCF7I tried a sample of this antibody for a western blot on MCF7 total cell lysates and exosomal purifications, at a:1000 dilution in TBST-5%milk. Both gave a clear and unique signal with ECL (but best with Femto reagent - Pierce, as seen on picture)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, highly recommended. It was the first time that I tried this antibody, and it works great for my ICC staining. Please see the attached confocal image. I used 1:50 dilution this time, the signal is not very strong but staining pattern is exactly I expected, which shows that the majority of CD9 is located on the cell membrane. I will try 1:25 dilution next time to see whether it can make it even better. I feel the overall quality of SCBT antibodies has been improved quite a lot, and the price is very competitive compared to many other vendors because the supplied volume is efficient for multiple experiments. Only one concern is that SCBT discontinued almost all polyclonal antibodies, which means I only can get those polyclonal antibodies from other suppliers if I need to do co-staining with 2-3 antibodies.
