CD9 Antibody (ALB 6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody raised against human bone marrow, reactive with human species, and validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD9, a type IV transmembrane glycoprotein, is a member of the tetraspanin family and is characterized by its four transmembrane domains and two extracellular loops. CD9 is widely expressed on the surface of various cells, including pre-B cells, eosinophils, basophils, activated T cells, and platelets. CD9 plays a pivotal role in cell-cell adhesion, migration, and intercellular communication, often acting as a scaffold within tetraspanin-enriched microdomains (TEMs) to organize interactions with integrins and other membrane proteins. A significant post-translational modification of CD9 is glycosylation, which occurs on extracellular loops and is critical for maintaining structural stability, facilitating protein-protein interactions, and influencing signal transduction.
