SEE ALSO...

CD57 Antibody (NK-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa antibody that detects CD57 in mouse, rat, and human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD57 (NK-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including phycoerythrin (PE) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). CD57 plays a crucial role in the immune system, particularly in the identification and characterization of natural killer (NK) cells and certain T lymphocyte subsets. CD57-positive cells are distinguishable by their granular lymphocyte morphology and significant clonal expansion in patients with conditions such as AIDS and those undergoing bone marrow transplantation. CD57-positive cells have been implicated in the localization to tumor sites, suggesting a potential role in tumor immunity, and are frequently found in elevated numbers within the synovial fluid of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. CD57 (NK-1) monoclonal antibody effectively identifies and characterizes these cells, making this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying immune responses and related pathologies.

Can CD57 (NK-1): sc-6261 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD57 (NK-1): sc-6261 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
