SEE ALSO...

CD48 Antibody (HM48-1) is a hamster monoclonal IgG antibody that detects CD48 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD48 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in immune responses by acting as a low-affinity receptor for CD2, facilitating cell-cell interactions essential for T cell activation and proliferation. CD48 expression occurs on various immune cells, including T, B, and null cells, as well as thymocytes and eosinophils, underscoring CD48′s importance in modulating immune responses. CD48 is expressed on hematopoietic and endothelial cells in rats and is found on thymocytes, lymph node cells, and most macrophages in mice, highlighting CD48′s widespread involvement in the immune system. CD48 has been shown to associate with the tyrosine kinase Lck, which is vital for T cell receptor signaling, further emphasizing CD48′s significance in immune regulation and potential therapeutic targeting in immune-related diseases.
