SEE ALSO...

CD48 Antibody (5-4.8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CD48 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CD48 antibody (5-4.8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD48 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in immune responses by acting as a low-affinity receptor for CD2, facilitating interactions between T cells and antigen-presenting cells. CD48 expression on all peripheral blood T, B, and null cells, as well as thymocytes and eosinophils, underscores CD48′s importance in immune cell signaling and activation. CD48 is found on hematopoietic and endothelial cells in rats, and in mice, CD48 is present on thymocytes, lymph node cells, most macrophages, and bone marrow cells. CD48 has been shown to associate with the tyrosine kinase Lck, which is vital for T cell receptor signaling, highlighting CD48′s significance in modulating immune responses.

How can CD48 (5-4.8): sc-8400 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Trav11
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-8400 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-8400 FITC).
