CD24 Antibody (HIS50) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects CD24 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD24 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored membrane sialoglycoprotein predominantly expressed on pro-B, pre-B, and mature B cells, with expression diminishing following B cell activation. CD24 is also present on granulocytes and a small subset of thymocytes, as well as in neuroblastomas, but is absent in plasma cells. CD24 plays a crucial role in regulating B cell proliferation and differentiation, serving as a marker for B cell maturation and being implicated in various hematological malignancies and solid tumors. A shift from apical localization to cytoplasmic staining of CD24 has been identified as a surrogate marker for stromal invasion in ovarian serous tumors of borderline malignancy. As a differentiation marker for mature resting B cells that disappears upon stimulation, CD24 is vital for understanding B cell biology and immune response dynamics.
