SEE ALSO...

CD15s Antibody (CHO131) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects CD15s protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD15s antibody (CHO131) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including phycoerythrin (PE) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). CD15s protein plays a crucial role in cellular interactions, particularly in the context of selectins, which are a family of carbohydrate-binding proteins essential for mediating the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium during inflammation and immune responses. This interaction is vital for the proper trafficking of leukocytes from the bloodstream to lymphoid organs and sites of inflammation, thereby influencing immune surveillance and response. Notably, CD15s is associated with sialylated Lewis glycan structures, such as sialyl-Lewis X, which are often overexpressed in various carcinomas, including colorectal adenocarcinomas and metastatic liver tumors. The presence of CD15s, particularly in the form of core 2 O-glycans, is linked to tumor progression and metastasis, making CD15s a significant tumor-associated antigen and a potential early predictor of metastatic disease. CD15s monoclonal antibody (CHO131) enables valuable insights into the mechanisms of leukocyte trafficking and the role of selectins in cancer biology.

Can CD15s (CHO131): sc-32243 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD15s (CHO131): sc-32243 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
