CD15 Antibody (BRA-4F1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects CD15 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry (FCM). CD15, also known as Lewis X or LeX, is a crucial carbohydrate antigen synthesized by FucT-IV (alpha 1,3-fucosyltransferase IV), which plays a significant role in cell adhesion and interaction. This trisaccharide is predominantly located on the surface of leukocytes and certain tumor cells, where CD15 facilitates calcium-mediated homotypic binding, leading to strong self-aggregation of cells expressing high levels of CD15. CD15 is vital for proper immune system functioning, acting as a ligand for selectins, proteins that mediate leukocyte-specific interactions during immune responses.
