CD13 Antibody (WM15) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD13 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD13, also known as aminopeptidase N, is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed on myeloid cells, including monocytes, basophils, eosinophils, neutrophils, and various myeloid leukemias, as well as on certain epithelial cells, fibroblasts, and osteoclasts. CD13 functions as a zinc-binding metalloprotease, playing a crucial role in the digestion of peptides and the inactivation of regulatory peptides like enkephalins, which are important for pain modulation and stress response. CD13 is significant in cancer biology, as CD13 may enhance the invasive capacity and metastatic behavior of cancer cells, making CD13 a potential target for therapeutic intervention. Notably, the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) has been shown to upregulate CD13 in human melanoma cells by activating both the myeloid and epithelial CD13 promoters, highlighting CD13′s role in tumor progression and potential as a biomarker for cancer research. Anti-CD13 antibody (WM15) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the complex roles of CD13 in various biological processes and disease states.
