SEE ALSO...

CBX7 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CBX7 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CBX7 (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CBX7, also known as Chromobox protein homolog 7, is a 251 amino acid nuclear protein characterized by one N-terminal chromo domain and one C-terminal Pc box. CBX7 is predominantly expressed in the kidney, brain, heart, and skeletal muscle, with lower levels found in peripheral blood leukocytes. CBX7 plays a crucial role as a component of the chromatin-associated polycomb complex, which is essential for maintaining the transcriptionally repressed state of target genes. CBX7 is involved in post-translational modifications that influence chromatin structure, thereby extending the cellular lifespan of epithelial cells by repressing p14 ARF expression and inhibiting telomerase activity. This regulatory function is significant as CBX7 contributes to the control of cell cycle progression and has implications in tumorigenesis, particularly in the development of follicular lymphoma and thyroid cancer.

Are there any issues with using sc-376274: CBX7 (G-3) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-376274 conjugates.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work at allI purchased this antibody and tested with lysates of cells where CBX7 was overexpressed via adenoviral transduction. This antibody detected certain proteins but those were not CBX7 protein. Rather I tested the same cell lysates with an antibody from Abcam and it did work great.
