CASK Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CASK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CASK antibody (C-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CASK, also known as LIN-2, is a member of the MAGUK (membrane-associated guanylate kinase homologs) family, which plays a critical role in organizing cell junctions, tumor suppression, and intracellular signaling. CASK is characterized by a unique domain structure that includes a calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase domain, followed by PDZ, SH3, and guanylate kinase-like domains, which facilitate interactions with various proteins. CASK is predominantly expressed in the brain, where CASK binds to cell-surface proteins such as neurexin and syndecan, participating in signaling pathways at neuronal synapses. CASK translocates to the nucleus, where CASK interacts with Tbr-1 to form a complex that binds to a specific DNA sequence known as the T-element, leading to regulation of gene expression, including the gene for Reelin. This transcriptional regulation is essential for proper cerebrocortical development, highlighting CASK′s significance in neurodevelopmental processes and potential implications in neurological disorders.
