Cas-L Antibody (2B11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Cas-L in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Cas-L, also known as human enhancer of filamentation (HEF1) and neural precursor cell expressed, developmentally down-regulated 9 (NEDD9), plays a crucial role as an adhesion docking molecule that facilitates protein-protein interactions and is integral to various signal transduction pathways. Cas-L is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is involved in the regulation of integrin and growth factor signaling pathways, which are essential for cellular processes such as growth, motility, and apoptosis. Cas-L′s presence in these pathways underscores its importance in cellular adhesion and migration, particularly in cancer progression, where Cas-L acts as a downstream effector of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) in the invasive behavior of glioblastoma cells. Additionally, Cas-L undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which is influenced by cell adhesion and Src kinase activity, further modulating Cas-L′s function and interactions. Cas-L′s ability to bind to FAK in neurons after ischemic events highlights its potential role in neuroprotection and neurite outgrowth, making Cas-L a significant target for research in both cancer biology and neurobiology.
