    SEE ALSO...

CART Antibody (3E4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CART protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CART antibody (3E4) is available as a non-conjugated isotype antibody. The CART gene encodes a neuropeptide that plays a crucial role in appetite and body weight regulation, making CART significant for understanding metabolic disorders and obesity. This neuropeptide, known as cocaine and amphetamine regulated transcript, exhibits changes in expression in response to psychostimulant drug administration, highlighting CART′s involvement in brain reward pathways. CART is localized in various regions of the central and peripheral nervous systems, where CART influences feeding behavior when administered centrally. Research has shown that CART expression in the rat hypothalamus is modulated by nutritional status, and synthetic CART peptide injection into the forebrain ventricular system can suppress food intake, indicating CART′s potential role in hypothalamic control of energy homeostasis. Additionally, CART presence in cell bodies and central terminals of vagal afferent neurons suggests involvement in brainstem mechanisms related to meal termination and satiety, underscoring CART′s importance in appetite and energy balance regulation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work for IHCThis antibody was generously given to me through the trial program that Santa Cruz offers. Unfortunately after testing it with fixation in PFA and Methanol, at high (1:50) and low (1:250) dilutions, and via retinal whole mount and cross-sections, I found that this antibody does not work for IHC. I greatly appreciate the trials program as I was able to find different antibodies to work for my purpose.
