    SEE ALSO...

CARKD Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CARKD protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CARKD (A-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CARKD protein, or carbohydrate kinase domain-containing protein, consists of 347 amino acids and is a member of the YjeF family, existing in three alternatively spliced isoforms. CARKD protein plays a critical role in carbohydrate metabolism, specifically in the phosphorylation of carbohydrates, which is essential for energy production and cellular signaling. Proper functioning of CARKD is vital, as disruptions in carbohydrate metabolism can lead to various metabolic disorders and impact overall cellular health. CARKD is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 13q34, a region that harbors important tumor suppressor genes, including BRCA2 and RB1, which are implicated in cancer development. Understanding CARKD function and interactions within metabolic pathways can provide insights into potential therapeutic targets for diseases related to carbohydrate metabolism.
