SEE ALSO...

CAR Antibody (Mab.E[mh] 1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the coxsackie and adenovirus receptor (CAR) protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-CAR antibody (Mab.E[mh] 1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The coxsackie and adenovirus receptor plays a crucial role in mediating viral infections by facilitating the binding of various adenoviruses through specific protein interactions. Notably, the high affinity between the viral knob domain and the extracellular amino-terminal domain (designated D1) of CAR is significant, as the D1 domain alone is sufficient for knob binding in transfected cells. Understanding the structural dynamics of CAR is essential, as CAR not only influences the efficiency of adenoviral infection but also has implications for the development of targeted gene therapies. CAR is expressed in a variety of human and murine cell types, but cells with low CAR expression levels are less susceptible to adenoviral infection. Strategies to enhance CAR expression or modify the adenoviral knob to target alternative receptors are being explored to overcome these limitations, making CAR monoclonal antibody (Mab.E[mh] 1) a valuable tool for researchers investigating viral interactions and therapeutic applications.
