CAPS1 Antibody (6D8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CAPS1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CAPS1 antibody (6D8) is available as a non-conjugated format. CAPS1, also known as calcyphosine or thyroid protein p24, is a 189 amino acid cytoplasmic protein characterized by four EF-hand domains, which are critical for calcium binding. CAPS1 was initially identified in canine thyroid tissue, and shows significantly lower abundance in humans compared to canines. CAPS1 plays a role in regulating ionic transport and may facilitate cross-signaling between cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and calcium-phosphatidylinositol signaling pathways, which are essential for various cellular processes. CAPS1 is expressed in several tissues, including brain, salivary glands, and lungs, with expression levels notably increased in endometrial cancer. This elevated expression suggests CAPS1 could serve as a valuable prognostic marker for patient survival, highlighting potential significance in cancer research and therapeutic strategies.
