Datasheets
  • CAP Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ CAP antibody, cited in 2 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 1184-1200 near the C-terminus of CAP of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of CAP of mouse and rat origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for CAP Antibody (G-3) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with CAP Antibody (G-3) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

CAP (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects CAP protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CAP antibody (G-3) is available as a non-conjugated form. c-Cbl associated protein (CAP), also designated ponsin and SH3P12, interacts with c-Cbl and facilitates c-Cbl tyrosine phosphorylation in response to insulin. CAP contains three adjacent Src homology-3 (SH3) domains in the carboxy terminus and interacts with focal adhesion kinase p125FAK, co-localizing with Actin stress fibers. CAP is expressed in 3T3-L1 adipocytes, but not in 3T3-L1 or NIH/3T3 fibroblasts. Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) stimulate CAP gene expression through PPARg activation. Beyond c-Cbl interaction, CAP interacts with Sos through the same SH3 domain, potentially facilitating protein-protein associations involved in cell structural changes.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166903 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
