Calpain 11 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Calpain 11 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Calpain 11 antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Calpains, a family of calcium-activated thiol proteases, play a crucial role in intracellular protein processing and are characterized by their heterodimeric structure, consisting of a large subunit and a small regulatory subunit. Notably, Calpain 11 features a unique calmodulin-like domain in place of the typical domain IV, which associates with but does not interact with the smaller subunit. Calpain 11 is predominantly localized in the testis, particularly in spermatozoa during the later stages of meiosis, indicating significant involvement in spermatogenesis. Expression of Calpain 11 during this process suggests a role in regulating calcium-dependent signaling pathways essential for sperm function and development, highlighting importance in male fertility and reproductive health.
