    SEE ALSO...

CAF-1 p150 Antibody (p150-48) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CAF-1 p150 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-CAF-1 p150 antibody (p150-48) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing versatility for various experimental needs. The chromatin assembly factor-1 (CAF-1) complex, which includes the p150 subunit, plays a crucial role in the assembly of nucleosomes by depositing newly synthesized and acetylated histones H3 and H4 into nascent chromatin during DNA replication. This process is vital for maintaining genomic integrity and regulating gene expression, as proper chromatin structure is essential for DNA accessibility and function. CAF-1 p150 is particularly important for the maintenance of heterochromatin, which is characterized by its densely coiled structure and low gene density, making CAF-1 p150 relatively inaccessible to DNA-modifying enzymes. During late S phase, CAF-1 p150 interacts directly with heterochromatin-associated proteins, such as HP1α, HP1β, and HP1γ, facilitating the orderly assembly of chromatin. As cells transition into mitosis, the dissociation of CAF-1 p150 and HP1 proteins from heterochromatin coincides with the phosphorylation of histone H3, highlighting the dynamic nature of chromatin remodeling during the cell cycle. The reassociation of HP1 proteins with chromatin at the end of mitosis, following the dephosphorylation of histone H3, underscores the importance of CAF-1 p150 in the regulation of chromatin structure and function throughout cellular processes.
