Cactin Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Cactin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cactin, also known as fSAPc, NY-REN-24, or C19orf29, is a 758 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in regulating innate immune responses and is involved in early embryonic development and pre-mRNA splicing. Cactin functions as a negative regulator of Toll-like receptor and interferon-regulatory factor signaling pathways, which are vital for the immune response. By modulating the transcriptional activation of NFκB genes in response to endogenous pro-inflammatory stimuli, Cactin helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent excessive inflammation. The gene encoding Cactin is located on human chromosome 19p13.3 and mouse chromosome 10 C1, and may be associated with renal-cell carcinoma in patients. Notably, Cactin exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms, which may have distinct functional roles in cellular processes. Anti-Cactin antibody (C-2) is an essential tool for researchers studying immune regulation and related pathways.
