Cabin-1 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Cabin-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Cabin-1 antibody (B-11) is available as the non-conjugated form. Cabin-1 protein, also known as calcineurin binding protein, plays a crucial role in regulating calcineurin activity, a serine/threonine phosphatase essential for T cell signaling and apoptosis. This regulation is particularly important because calcineurin is involved in transcriptional activation of various cytokines and transcription factors, including NFAT, NFkB, and AP-1, which are pivotal in T cell receptor-mediated signaling pathways. The interaction between Cabin-1 and calcineurin is influenced by intracellular calcium levels and protein kinase C activity; upon T cell receptor activation, protein kinase C induces hyperphosphorylation of Cabin-1, enhancing binding affinity to calcineurin. This binding forms a complex that inhibits calcineurin′s activity, thereby modulating T cell signaling. Cabin-1 also interacts with MEF-2 transcription factors, which are critical for regulating apoptosis in T cells. This interaction inhibits MEF-2-mediated gene transcription, further contributing to T cell apoptosis regulation. The multifaceted role of Cabin-1 in these signaling pathways underscores its importance in immune responses and potential implications in immunological disorders.
