CA IV Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CA IV protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CA IV antibody (H-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Carbonic anhydrase IV (CA IV) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored enzyme located on the outer surface of the plasma membrane, where CA IV plays a crucial role in catalyzing the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining acid-base balance in various physiological processes, including renal acidification and regulation of interstitial pH transients in the brain. CA IV presence in microcapillaries and choriocapillaris of the human eye highlights CA IV importance in ocular health and function. Disruption in CA IV targeting can lead to impaired bicarbonate secretion, which is associated with conditions such as cystic fibrosis.
