C4β Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects C4β protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-C4β antibody (D-12) is available as the non-conjugated form. C4β protein plays a crucial role in the complement system, which is essential for immune defense and inflammation regulation. C4β protein is synthesized as a precursor that is cleaved into three chains: α, β, and γ, each with distinct functions. C4β (D-12) antibody recognizes the α chain that can be further processed into two isotypes, C4α and C4β, which differ in their reactivity with amino and hydroxyl groups, respectively. This structural diversity allows for specific interactions with various ligands, enhancing the complement system′s ability to target pathogens effectively. C4β protein variations are linked to different blood group antigens, which can influence individual susceptibility to autoimmune diseases. C4β protein deficiencies are associated with conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus, highlighting C4β′s importance in maintaining immune homeostasis.
