Datasheets
  • c-Mpl Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ c-Mpl antibody, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 531-569 near the C-terminus of c-Mpl of human origin
  • recommended for detection of c-Mpl of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for c-Mpl Antibody (E-7) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with c-Mpl Antibody (E-7) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

c-Mpl Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa antibody that detects c-Mpl protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-c-Mpl antibody (E-7) is available as the non-conjugated form. c-Mpl protein, also known as thrombopoietin receptor, is crucial for regulating megakaryopoiesis, the process by which megakaryocytes develop and produce platelets from hematopoietic stem cells. c-Mpl is primarily located in hematopoietic tissues, including bone marrow, spleen, and fetal liver, where c-Mpl mediates the effects of thrombopoietin (TPO), a key cytokine in platelet production. Upon binding to TPO, c-Mpl activates Janus kinase family members, Tyk 2 and JAK2, leading to phosphorylation of Stat5 and Stat3, which translocate to the nucleus to initiate transcription of genes essential for megakaryocyte development and platelet formation. Proper functioning of c-Mpl is vital, as mutations in c-Mpl have been linked to serious hematological disorders, such as congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia and thrombocytopenia with absent radii syndrome, highlighting c-Mpl′s importance in maintaining normal blood cell levels and overall hemostatic balance.

If the antibody to c-Mpl E-7 is a monoclonal mouse Ig M isotype, why do you suggest to use m-IgGκ BP-HRP as a secondary reagent? Is the secondary able to bind IgM as well?

Asked by: simcopp
Thank you for your question. IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for c-Mpl Antibody (E-7) for WB applications but, yes an IgM secondary would work as well.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377417 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
