    SEE ALSO...

BUP-1 Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BUP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BUP-1 (F-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BUP-1, also known as β-ureidopropionase or N-carbamyl-β-alanine amidohydrolase, is a crucial enzyme in pyrimidine catabolism, specifically catalyzing the hydrolysis of N-carbamyl-β-aminoisobutyric acid to produce β-aminoisobutyric acid, ammonia, and carbon dioxide. This reaction represents the final step in thymine and uracil degradation, highlighting BUP-1′s essential role in nucleotide metabolism. Proper functioning of BUP-1 is vital, as deficiencies can lead to toxic metabolite accumulation, resulting in elevated N-carbamyl-β-aminoisobutyric acid and N-carbamyl-β-alanine levels in biological fluids, which may contribute to neurological disorders. BUP-1 is predominantly found in liver and kidney cell cytoplasm, where BUP-1 plays a significant role in maintaining metabolic homeostasis.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374066 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
