SEE ALSO...

BSEP Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BSEP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BSEP (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Bile Salt Export Pump (BSEP), also known as ABCB11, plays a crucial role in the transport of bile acids across the hepatocyte canalicular membrane, which is essential for bile formation and regulation of bile acid homeostasis. BSEP is located in the liver, where BSEP facilitates the secretion of bile salts from the bloodstream into bile, thereby preventing toxic accumulation of bile acids in the liver. Proper functioning of BSEP is vital for digestion and absorption of dietary fats and fat-soluble vitamins, and BSEP dysfunction can lead to cholestasis and liver diseases. Additionally, BSEP contains potential phosphorylation sites for various kinases, indicating that BSEP activity may be modulated by post-translational modifications in response to bile salt concentrations, further underscoring BSEP importance in maintaining liver health and metabolic balance.

この抗体は,BSEPタンパクの細胞外,細胞内どちらの部位を認識しますか?

Asked by: naoki
Thank you for your question, raised against amino acids 1-180 of BSEP of human origin. Which site is recognised depends on the sample, so please consult the literature yourself. Thank you for your cooperation. ご質問ありがとうございます。human由来のBSEPのアミノ酸1-180に対応します。どちらの部位を認識するのはサンプルによって違いますので自分で文献をご参照ください。宜しくお願い致します。

What was the immunogen used to generate this antibody? The website states aa1-180 of BSEP, but I assume the immunogen was a shorter peptide.

Asked by: Sven
Thank you for your question. No epitope mapping has been performed for this antibody as of yet, so the antibody's exact binding site is not known.

Following my previous question, I would love to know if there is publication using F-6 antibody on ELISA

Asked by: yumin
Thank you for your question. BSEP Antibody (F-6): sc-74500 is recommended for detection of BSEP of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. However, there are currently no publications using this antibody to detect BSEP in ELISA. Please contact our technical service for further information.

I was using BSEP Antibody (F-6: sc-74500) to detect BSEP in my cell lysate through ELISA. I have proven BSEP expression with the same sample and F-6 antibody on Western blot. But no signal in ELISA. How come? I have tried up to 200 fold dilution with F-6
