BPNT1 Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BPNT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BPNT1 (C-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BPNT1 protein, also known as 3′(2′), 5′-bisphosphate nucleotidase 1, plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of adenosine 3′-phosphate 5′ phosphosulfate (PAPS) to adenosine 5′-phosphosulfate (APS) and 3′(2′)-phosphoadenosine 5′ phosphate (PAP) to adenosine 5′-phosphate (AMP), utilizing magnesium as a cofactor. This enzymatic activity is vital for regulating sulfation processes and maintaining cellular homeostasis. BPNT1 is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in brain and kidney, and is potently inhibited by lithium, a common treatment for mood disorders. BPNT1 inhibition can lead to PAP accumulation, which may disrupt sulfotransferase activity and subsequently alter gene expression and phosphatidylinositol signaling pathways. Understanding BPNT1 function is essential for elucidating potential implications in mood disorders and other physiological processes.
