BOP1 Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BOP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BOP1 (E-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BOP1, or Block of Proliferation 1 protein, is a highly conserved non-ribosomal protein consisting of 746 amino acids, predominantly localized to the nucleolus, where BOP1 plays a crucial role in ribosome biogenesis. Specifically, BOP1 is essential for the synthesis of mature ribosomal RNA, particularly 28S and 5.8S rRNA, and BOP1 truncation at the amino terminus can lead to cell growth arrest in the G1 phase, highlighting BOP1′s importance in cell cycle regulation. Furthermore, BOP1 interacts with pescadillo, a protein that facilitates cell proliferation, thereby enhancing the incorporation of pescadillo into nucleolar preribosomal complexes, which is vital for rRNA maturation and the formation of the 60S ribosomal subunit. The BOP1-pescadillo complex is integral to the biogenesis of these ribosomal subunits, and any deregulation of BOP1 has been implicated in colorectal tumorigenesis, making BOP1 a significant target for research in cancer biology.
