BNS-22 is a potent small molecule inhibitor of Topo II (IC50 2.8 µM and 0.42 µM for Topo II alpha and Topo II beta, respectively). Unlike Etoposide (sc-3512), BNS-22 does not cause DNA damage associated with DNA double-strand breaks. BNS-22 affects the cell cycle at M-phase and disrupts the mitotic spindle formation in HeLa cells (3-10 µM). In several human cancer cell lines, BNS-22 has shown significant anit-proliferative activites.
