SEE ALSO...

BNPI Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BNPI protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BNPI Antibody (A-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BNPI protein, also known as brain-specific Na(+)-dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter, plays a crucial role in glutamatergic neurotransmission by importing phosphate ions into neurons, which are essential for ATP synthesis and other cellular processes. BNPI protein is predominantly expressed in neurons of the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and cerebellum, with higher expression levels observed in adult brain compared to fetal brain. BNPI localizes almost exclusively to nerve terminals, forming asymmetric excitatory-type synapses and associating preferentially with membranes of small synaptic vesicles. Proper functioning of BNPI is vital for maintaining synaptic transmission and plasticity, as BNPI facilitates glutamate uptake into intracellular vesicles, thereby defining a glutamatergic phenotype in neurons. BNPI regulation of phosphate ion levels is essential for neuronal health and function, making BNPI a significant target for research in neurobiology and related fields.

Are there any issues with using sc-377425: BNPI (A-8) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-377425 conjugates.
