Datasheets
  • BNIP-1 Antibody (5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ BNIP-1 antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 52-174 of BNIP-1 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of BNIP-1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP and IF
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for BNIP-1 Antibody (5) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with BNIP-1 Antibody (5) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

BNIP-1 Antibody (5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BNIP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-BNIP-1 antibody (5) is available as non-conjugated format. BNIP-1 protein plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis, functioning as a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family. BNIP-1 (5) antibody localizes to the nuclear envelope, endoplasmic reticulum, and mitochondria through a hydrophobic transmembrane domain, which enables interaction with other apoptotic regulators. BNIP-1 protein interacts with a family of proteins, including BNIP-2 and Nix, which are also involved in apoptotic signaling pathways. BNIP-2 enhances GTPase activity of Cdc42GAP, influencing various signaling pathways that regulate cell survival and death. BNIP-1 protein interaction with Bcl-2 family proteins is particularly significant, as this interaction can modulate the balance between cell survival and apoptosis, making BNIP-1 a critical player in cellular responses to stress and potential therapeutic target in diseases characterized by dysregulated apoptosis.

I am using BNIP-1 (5): sc-135848 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
