BMS1 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects BMS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BMS1 (A-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BMS1 protein, also known as Ribosome biogenesis protein BMS1 homolog, consists of 1,282 amino acids and is encoded by the human gene BMS1. This nuclear protein plays a crucial role in the maturation of the 40S ribosomal subunit within the nucleolus, acting as a molecular switch that facilitates the assembly of the ribosomal components necessary for protein synthesis. The 40S ribosomal subunit is a vital part of the 80S ribosome complex, which is essential for the initiation of translation. Proper functioning of BMS1 ensures efficient production of ribosomes, which are critical for cellular function and growth. Disruptions in ribosome biogenesis can lead to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders, highlighting the significance of BMS1 in maintaining cellular homeostasis and overall health.
