SEE ALSO...

BMCP1/KMCP1 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BMCP1/KMCP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BMCP1/KMCP1 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BMCP1 protein, also known as uncoupling protein 5 (UCP5) or solute carrier family 25 member 14 (SLC25A14), plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function by facilitating proton transport across the inner mitochondrial membrane, essential for thermogenesis and energy regulation. This 325 amino acid proton channel carrier protein is not coupled to oxidative phosphorylation, allowing proton gradient dissipation and heat generation instead of ATP, particularly important in brown adipose tissue and during cold exposure. Additionally, kidney mitochondrial carrier protein-1 (KMCP1), also referred to as solute carrier family 25 member 30 (SLC25A30), is a highly homologous 291 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein predominantly expressed in kidney cortex and vital for maintaining mitochondrial metabolism, especially under oxidative stress conditions. BMCP1 and KMCP1 interaction highlights the intricate network of mitochondrial carriers regulating cellular energy homeostasis and metabolic responses, making anti-BMCP1/KMCP1 antibody (F-3) an invaluable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial dynamics and related pathologies.
