BLOS1 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects BLOS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BLOS1 (E-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BLOS1 protein, also known as BLOC1S1 (biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex 1 subunit 1), consists of 125 amino acids and is a crucial component of the biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex-1 (BLOC1), which is essential for the normal formation of specialized organelles within the endosomal-lysosomal system, such as melanosomes and platelet dense granules. Proper functioning of BLOC1 is vital for endosomal trafficking, influencing the cell-surface abundance of the D2 dopamine receptor, the biogenesis and fusion of synaptic vesicles, and promoting neurite outgrowth. BLOS1 interacts with other subunits of BLOC1, including BLOS2, BLOS3, Dysbindin, Muted, Pallidin, Cappuccino, and Snapin, highlighting its integral role in cellular processes. BLOS1 gene is located on chromosome 12q13.2, a region that encodes over 1,100 genes and is associated with various skeletal deformities, such as hypochondrogenesis and achondrogenesis, underscoring the importance of BLOS1 in both cellular function and developmental biology.
