Betaxolol hydrochloride is a selective β1-AR adrenoceptor antagonist. Adrenoreceptors, or adrenergic receptors are G protein-coupled proteins involved in a variety of sympathetic nervous system activities. β1-AR is primarily associated with cardiac output effects.
