SEE ALSO...

β-glucuronidase Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects beta-glucuronidase protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). β-glucuronidase (E-11) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Beta-glucuronidase plays a crucial role in glucuronide hydrolysis, supporting detoxification and excretion of endogenous and exogenous compounds. Beta-glucuronidase deficiencies cause mucopolysaccharidosis type VII (MPS VII), a lysosomal storage disorder marked by glycosaminoglycan buildup, resulting in severe physiological effects. Beta-glucuronidase forms a homotetramer, with each subunit containing a jelly roll barrel, an immunoglobulin constant domain, and a TIM barrel essential for catalytic function. Glu 451 and Glu 540 residues are critical for enzymatic activity, and mutations at these sites can disrupt structure and function. Beta-glucuronidase regulation influences tumorigenesis and cancer invasiveness, making beta-glucuronidase a potential therapeutic target.

Hi there. Is this antibody compatible with BSA blocking or dry milk blocking reagents? I know there is a recommended specific blocking solution but am wondering if it is essential. Thank you.

Asked by: avutz
Thank you for your question. While results will be best with our UltraCruz® Blocking Reagent: sc-516214, other options for blocking can also be employed instead. Your best course of action would be a preliminary experiment in which you compare results from BSA- v Blotto-based blocking on your particular samples.
