SEE ALSO...

β-defensin 3 Antibody (L3-18b-E1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the beta-defensin 3 protein of human origin by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). β-defensin 3 (L3-18b-E1) antibody is available as a non-conjugated antibody. Beta-defensin 3, a member of the defensin family, plays a crucial role in the innate immune response due to its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, which is vital for protecting the host from various pathogens. Beta-defensin 3 is primarily produced in mucosal epithelia and neutrophils, and expression is developmentally regulated, highlighting its importance in immune defense mechanisms. Notably, beta-defensin 3 is localized in the respiratory system and is also found in lower levels within the epithelial cells of the intestine and lung, where beta-defensin 3 contributes to the first line of defense against microbial invasion. The regulation of beta-defensin 3 is particularly significant during inflammatory responses, as expression can be upregulated in response to stimuli such as lipopolysaccharide, thereby enhancing mucosal immunity. Anti-beta-defensin 3 antibody (L3-18b-E1) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying the immune response and the role of antimicrobial peptides in health and disease.
