β-catenin Antibody (BDI920) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody specifically raised against full-length human β-catenin, also known as catenin beta-1 or armadillo in Drosophila. β-catenin is a multifunctional protein that plays a pivotal role in cell–cell adhesion and gene transcription regulation. Within the cell, β-catenin is predominantly located at the adherens junctions, where β-catenin binds to the cytoplasmic tail of E-cadherin, facilitating the formation of cadherin–catenin complexes essential for maintaining cellular adhesion and tissue architecture. This localization ensures the integrity of cell–cell contacts and proper transmission of signals that regulate cell proliferation and differentiation. Additionally, β-catenin is a key component of the Wnt signaling pathway. In the absence of Wnt signals, β-catenin is targeted for degradation, but upon Wnt activation, β-catenin accumulates in the cytoplasm and translocates to the nucleus to act as a transcriptional coactivator, influencing the expression of genes involved in cell fate determination and proliferation. Anti-β-catenin antibody (BDI920) is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and reacts with β-catenin from human, mouse, and rat origins, making β-catenin (BDI920) antibody a versatile tool for detecting and studying β-catenin across various species and applications.
